New Tulloch Ard Gorge Lookout walk

Parks Victoria has officially opened the new Tulloch Ard Gorge Lookout Walk near Gelantipy in the Snowy River National Park.

The short walk opened in November is set to wow walkers with its amazing scenery. It is one of five new short walks planned as part of the Great Short Walks of East Gippsland initiative. The others include the Snowy River Estuary Walk at Marlo, Mallacoota Scenic Coastal Walk, the Lochend-Wat Wat Rainforest Walk and an Old Growth Forest Walk north of Goongerah. Parks Victoria Chief Ranger, Will McCutcheon, said the Tulloch walk meanders through a changing landscape of stunning forests to rocky escarpments and provides the opportunity to spot wildlife including lyrebirds, wedge-tailed eagles and wonga pigeons. The lookout and walking track have been carefully planned to minimise impacts on the park’s natural and cultural values. New signs will provide an insight into the area’s unique features as well as the journey of the Snowy River from the Alps to the sea.
